“Neurodiversity” is an umbrella term that's used to describe differences in the way people's brains work. Not everyone brain process the same. There is an infinite variation in neurocognitive functioning within our population.
Neurodiveristy is not a medical diagnosis; it’s a term created by a sociologist to promote equality and inclusion of neurological minorities. Neurodiversity research and education helps clinicians to view and address the unique needs of those with certain disabilities and neurological conditions.
"Acquired neurodiversity" refers to changes in a person’s brain functioning following an injury. Acquired neurodiveristy means that someone has developed changes to their cognition and behavior within their lifetime.
The Neurodiversity Movement is a social justice movement that seeks civil rights, equality, respect, and full societal inclusion for the neurodivergent. There are people working on developing inclusive education strategies based on neurodiversity.

Accessible playgrounds allow for children of all abilities to play side-by-side. This teaches children empathy, something we can certainly use more of!
